Visiting the School

On Friday 22nd September, as a group we visited the school and had a meeting with the head teacher, Mrs Gasser and teaching assistant, Mrs Buncle, who involved with the school's gardening club. They advised us about their visions and ideas and took us on a tour of the school to show us the field that we are going to be working with. The area was much bigger than we first expected! Mrs Gasser wants the area to be a reflection area for the children that is useable all year round and is providing us with funding from the PTA team of £500. We knew that this amount of money would not be enough to fund the whole project, so we will be organising some fundraising events to help us with affording the resources that we require to make the project the best that it can be.

After we had finished speaking to the headteacher, we decided to go back to the field and get some ideas together about what we want to include. We started by taking photos and measuring the area that we had been given as this would allow us to start researching fencing that could be suitable. We also looked at the types of trees that were in the area and how we could use them within the project.
